Abdiel Vivancos is an American actor, mindfulness educator, and writer. Born and raised in Miami, FL, Vivancos’ familial roots are Basque, Spanish, French, Argentine, Honduran, and Cuban. Son of Emmy Award Winning Documentary Producer Marcia Izaguirre and Cameraman Abdiel M. Vivancos, Vivancos began his arts education in public art magnet schools, studying Drama from childhood through adolescence. He trained as an actor at New World School of the Arts and French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts before graduating with honors from Carnegie Mellon's School of Drama as an Andrew Carnegie scholar, where he also ignited his passion for mindfulness.

Vivancos has performed in world premiere productions of new plays, musicals, short films, web series, cabarets, and immersive performance art. He has most notably portrayed famed philosopher Baruch Spinoza in David Ives’ New Jerusalem at GableStage and Perchik the revolutionary in Goodspeed Opera House’s 50th Anniversary Production of Fiddler on the Roof. A member of Actors’ Equity since 2011, he thoroughly enjoys contributing to the creative process of new work, as well as facilitating audition/performance coaching. With vast multidisciplinary experience, Vivancos continues to deepen his storytelling through a diverse body of work and form.

Vivancos is a Mindfulness Educator, Consultant, and the Founder of Silent Sound Meditation, a mindfulness technique for all ages, and Yoga in Strawberry Fields, a community practice in the heart of New York City’s Central Park. Vivancos has worked with the New York City Department of Education, Health, and Cultural Affairs, as well as the David Lynch Foundation and Carnegie Mellon University, providing guidance on a wide range of meditation practices for teachers and students. He has led all ages through individual coaching, group practices, workshops, talks, retreats, and consulting with educational institutions, performing artists, and healing centered engagements.

Through his work in the performing arts, education system, and wellness field, Vivancos is dedicated to supporting communities with storytelling, meditation, and mindfulness. He recently founded MeditaCentro: a cultural and wellness center in Costa Rica, led a Huachuma Retreat in the Andes Mountains of Peru, and is currently back in the United States searching for the next great story to tell!
